If you live in NJ you cannot do any of the short cuts that were
suggested.

The plates must be on front and back. The must be permanently bolted
onto the vehicle.

It might be possible to cheat while in a parade or display area. Other
than that, it just will not happen.

The up side is that NJ registers all types on MVs and the Antique plates
allow them to be owned without inspection.

So, enough said. When I finish my M38A1, don't take any pictures.
Meanwhile I can enjoy owning and driving it.
