Gentlemen,
Many years ago, I did an apprenticeship as a Fitter/Turner, a trade
combination peculiar to the MOD (N) as far as I know. A fundamental tenet
throughout the training was that if you didn't have the correct tool, then
MAKE one - PROPERLY.
When I needed a puller for the wheel on the M151, I got a piece of flat
bar, drilled and tapped (3/8 NF) the centre, drilled/filed slots on either
side of the tapped centre, bought three 5-inch bolts and 20 flat washers
and hey presto, I have an infinitely variable steering wheel puller.
Just a thought for those who may not want to spend 45 bucks plus
shipping. The correct tool is always nice to have though.
Gavin
