There is a nice little museum on the remains of the main post with some
vehicles and aircraft. Camp Blanding was used in WWII to train units in
Amphibious Landing Techniques. Due to the limestone underlying the area,
the base is full of sinkholes which have turned into big sandy ponds. Among
the units which trained there was the 29th Division which was featured in
Saving Private Ryan during the beach landing scenes.
