You're thinking of the M59 which had two engines.

The original M88 had the Continental AVSI-1790-2A, 12 cylinder, air-cooled,
super charged, fuel injection, Mogas engine.

Used to get some awesome backfires after long road marches in Germany. You'd
get flames out 12 feet in the back!
