I will vouch for one item, regarding synthetic oil. My transmission.
My M715 is a daily runner. We are going through a second week of below 0F
weather. With synthetic in the transmission, I can now shift into and out of
all gears rather quickly.
With non syntheic, by the time I get into 2nd from 1st, I've lost all
momemtum.
These problems do go away after a modest warm up, but I have found it useful
to be able to go through the gear selection first thing if I need to without
the warmup.
As to using synthetic elsewhere, each to their own needs.
