--- That noise scares the crap out of you doesn't it ! Be thankful that
the fan comes on. Check the -10 for info to bypass the fan control relay in
case the relay quits. This turns the fan on all the time which will get you
home. Check your belt tension to be sure they are snug BUT NOT TOO TIGHT.
Some of the smell can be from residue cooking off the manifolds and exhaust
etc.
I personally hate the old magnesium run-flat inserts. There seems to always
be one that won't balance out. You will probably get rid of the shimmy when
you remove them. Also you will find that the bias ply tires become somewhat
square after sitting for a while.
