Well, actually, all the credit goes to the guy who made up TM 9-2800 - I
just looked it up.
The ones illustrated in there are almost identical to Buzz's find (the tow
bar support leg is very distinctive) but they don't have the PTO fitting
although they do have the mounting for it. I may well be wrong about the
model number, and it could even be a civilian unit as presumably the
D.O.D. just bought Athey units with green paint on. This sort of thing
(or the British equivalent) was extensively used for air crash recovery at
remote locations in the UK.
