M38 experts, I need information on the M38 engine.
I pulled the head off the engine of my M38 because of a blown head gasket to
find that the water ports on the head and block don't match. The block
number is MB-546656 and the head is marked 11-16, 6396600, W2, Jeep, Firing
Order 1-2-4-1, Tappet Clearance Engine Cold Intake .014 Exhaust. 014,
Willys. Is the block out of an MB? Where did the head come from, is it off
of a CJ? Does anyone know the engine serial number range for the M38's? Does
anyone out there have a good M38 engine at a reasonable price in or near
Arizona?
Can anyone help?
