The color that Mike describes here is found on early M 37's. I have
seen (and photographed) several M- 37's that have this color as their first
coat of paint. It is much like a pea soup green and is much lighter than
the later # 24087. I have yet to find a explanation for this different
shade of O.D. or any data on it.
