I've seen Brandon's HMMWV and can add some more detail: On the wiring
harness end, the holes in the molded rubber boot are not large enough
to admit the rubber-covered portions of the pins on the time delay
module. Thus, the time delay module's plug can not be fully seated in
the wiring harness connector.
On my truck, however, the connectors on the wiring harness and time
delay module are identical, and each have receptacle openings large
enough to admit the rubber-coated portions of the pins on the other
connector. The openings have a couple ribs around their circumferences
to provide proper sealing. Brandon's time delay module has the same
connector as mine does, but his wiring harness has a different
connector. I dunno whether it's different by design, or different due
to a manufacturing defect.
Did that make any sense? :-)
