FYI
Maker Festival - On the Cornish side of the Tamar River - opposite Plymouth.
WW11 vehicle display and Tattoo is being held on saturday 19th August 2000
and will be followed, in the evening, by a WW11 dance with Big band etc.
1940's costume is preferred for the Dance but NOT obligatory. Camping

Maker Festival is being held at Maker Battery.
Maker Battery is an historic defensive position for the city of Plymouth.
The first defences were laid down during the American War of Independance
when attack from the French was feared, the defences then grew during the
Napoleonic Wars, added to during the Boer War, then improved during WW1, a
Heavy Anti Aircraft Battery was added during WW2, and during The Cold War,
nuclear bunkers wer built underneath the existing fortifications. Maker
Festival starts on August 12th and continues for the week - the Military
event marks the end of the festival - If anyone want to have a summer
holiday in Cornwall then this could be the opportunity of a lifetime....
