Recently a guy in Washington state contacted me about the Gillespie 319 color
I am painting the reproduction FT-250 radio mounts. I sent him a sample that
I had sprayed onto some washers that I use to assemble the mounts, along with
a strip of the cardboard that was behind the washers when I sprayed them. He
had found a mint condition spot, under his gas tank, and when he compared the
sample to the original, he reported that the 319 was an EXACT match for both
color and texture. I've ordered a couple of gallons of the 33070 from Rapco
to start the paint work on a 42 ambulance, and maybe repaint my 42 GPW. I'll
let you know the differences when it gets in here. I'll try to make some
sample swatches on cardboard so I can mail them to those interested.
