Esteemed listers,
Back earlier in the winter, I noticed one of my deuces had developed an oil
leak on the left rear axle at the wheel. I chalked this up as a "work on
this in warm weather project." I happened to park another deuce in the same
spot, and today I noticed a leak on the left rear axle at the wheel. Neither
of these trucks has a prior history of leaking. It so happens that the
particular parking spot these were both parked in is on a compound slope,
such that the left rear wheel is substantially lower than the rest of the
truck.
So the question is, is the parking on the grade causing the problem
(leaking), or is it just making the symptoms show up?
Also, any ideas on helping my buddy free the stuck engine in his M37? We can
drag it around with a deuce, but the back wheels just slide. Pulled the
plugs and poured in diesel, which ran through cylinders 2-6, but stood in 1.
Open to ideas...
