Sorry, I can't agree with your opinion of Mr. Mac Nab. The way I see it, he
quoted a passage directly from the "Corporate Handbook" for AM General,
then apologized for not being able to be of any help, and reiterated that he
is only acting within the guidelines of company policy. Do I agree with this
policy? NO! Do I think that idiots should be allowed to excuse their own
lack of common sense and driving skills by instituting a lawsuit every time
they do something stupid? HELL NO! Neither do I think that Mr. Mac Nab was
trying to be intentionally rude to you. I'm afraid that AMG (or at least its
lawyers) has come to the conclusion that they are less likely to be held
liable in a lawsuit if their stated corporate policy is that no civilians
should be allowed to own or operate a HUMMWV. If we are ever able to return
our society to a less litigious ($.25 word) environment, then we might find
companies like AMG more amenable to sharing information, and selling parts.
Maybe I'm just a "nice guy", but I can't see that getting upset with Mr. Mac
Nab accomplishes anything. I will now retreat to my "flame-proof" bunker.
John

List,
this is the reply I just recieved to my inquiring about my Hmmwv body #. Do
you think AMG is ever going to figure out that there is a lot of Civilian
money available to them if they decided to get off their high horse, and
sell parts for all of the vehicles they have mfd., not just the civi
ones...??? Not to mention that there is no forseeable harm in basic info re.
a vehicle...i.e. production date etc.. Talk about rubbing someone the wrong
way... And this guy is the Director of PR....
thought you all might like to see this.... G
