I'm told that they're already in the mail, so I expect to receive them
next week. I guess the question is whether or not AM General
successfully coerces the CA DMV into revoking my registration. I'll
keep the list posted on what happens.

I truly hope that this blows over quickly, and everybody goes away
happy. On the other hand, if AM General continues to successfully
coerce states into revoking peoples valid registrations, then let's
unleash the dogs of war.

On a brighter note, today I drove my 1972 AM General M109A3 2.5-ton
6x6 shop van about 70 miles round-trip, including some nice, long 6%
uphill and downhill grades, to get it weighed for registration. Matt
Tait came along to provide very valuable training in the art of
man-handling big 28-year-old trucks over hills, and to make my class B
CDL training permit valid (I need somebody with a valid class A or B
CDL in the right seat whenever I drive it on the road, until I pass my
road test). Much fun was had by all, and my truck weighs in at 15,340
pounds with no passengers and a full tank of fuel. I was happy to find
that it can hold 35 MPH in fourth gear on a 6% hill. I would have been
happier if it was 55 MPH, but ya makes do with what ya got...
