Hi Gordon,

There was a long debate about DUKWs back when we had a massive drowning
accident with one. Seemed a number of DUKW owners said that they weren't
safe in pounding surf. A horrible accident in Florida was cited as
evidence, as the surf rolled it and everybody drowned. However, "safe"
is a word open to interpretation, isn't it? :-)
Personally, I know next to nothing about DUKWs other than what I have
seen posted here by owners, so I can't debate the point at all. I was
just passing along my recollection of those posts after the accident last
year.
