Duane,
I have a 1945 MB and it's configured like yours. Check your hood blocks, the
things that the windshield lays on when in the folded down position. The one
on the left sits off center compared to the right side one. This is so the
wiper
on the vacuum powered motor doesn't hit the block. I have the same hole in
the cowl and I ran a rubber vacuum line through it to a copper line installed
on the windshield frame. The copper line goes up along the frame to the motor
where a very short rubber line makes the connection to the motor. I installed
a manual wiper on the right side. Check the left side of the windshield frame
for
screw holes. These are for the vacuum line clamps.
