One of my co-workers suggested putting a "Denver Boot" (probably a
trademark, see www.denverboot.com, I bet that funny symbol would be a
"TM" symbol if I had a different font...) on my truck for security. I
did a bit of surfing around, and found not only the real thing, but
also similar products from other companies. Most of them looked kinda
big and clumsy to use for my intended purpose (slapping it on at every
stop on a daily driver), but this one looked interesting:
It's not cheap, but neither is the truck I'm trying to protect!
What do y'all think? I'd particularly like to hear of any first-hand
experience with this or similar products, on or off the list, as you
deem appropriate.
I'm wondering if a device like this one, plus a battery disconnect
switch with a removable (and not necessarily unique or pick-resistant)
key to keep curious fingers from accidentally starting the truck or
leaving the lights on, might provide adequate security with minimal
inconvenience and minimal vehicle modification.
I don't know if this particular product will fit on the large wheels
used on some of our MVs, but I plan to send them an email to ask for
more details.
P.S. Another one of the similar products, which I thought looked too
big for my application, showed up at www.mitico.com
