Shane,
The first visible difference is the front grill; on the M54-series, the
grill is flat straight across; on the M-813-series the grill is extended
forward a few inches making the hood longer as well. Does the cargo bed
have drop sides? All USMC M-54 and M-813 series trucks had drop sides, do
not know if Army ordered them that way or not.

I am info'g Maj D. L. Dickerson, USMC (Ret) - my mentor when I was a second
lieutenant; he knows all the differences between everything and everything.
He will respond more completely...

We have aquired a new 5 ton truck, but there are no data plates on it. What
are the differences between an M54 and a M814?

I understand that a M814 is a rebult/remanufactured M54, but what are the
visable differences?

Thank you verymuch for your time and assistance.
