ok sounds like its 1 phase ok
2 of the wires have to be hot one is ground 4th is unused or a nult.
and same as ground but carrys any 110 volts back
isif the 4th wire is use by law you have to have a 4 wire driyer plug
female
and a 4th wire to the braker box
must will use the ground as the nutl wire
butt that can get you bite by a hot frame if some thing go's bad
if theres a 110 volt relay on the unit to start the motor and stop
it the 4th wire is needed
look at one end or the other
to see if the cable has 3-4 wires in it and ware they go
