I suggest Family Radio Service (FRS) radios instead of CB. Much smaller, fit in
your pocket, no interference to speak of, etc.
Personally, I use 6 meter ham band, as I am licensed for that. Several club
members are, as well. Works great.We have portables, mobiles, etc. Jim
