Well, the MULE is now running...I thank everyone who sent me blips from the
TM's on how to get a magneto back in - in the right place...
unfortunately, all were close..counting only in horse shoes and hand
grenades !!
Here is what I discovered for all you MULE skinners who may some day remove
your magneto to replace points....
1. remove magneto
2. do to it whatever you need to...points...etc..
3. remove the governor !!!! yup...
4. turn over the engine with a socket from the crank pulley to find the
"v" on the cam gear...which can be seen by looking in the governors hole..
(hmm) There is no need or reason to remove the plugs...unless you plan to
replace them..
5. align the magneto "v" on the mag gear with the "v" on the cam gear...
6. bolt in the magneto with the 2 bolts...don't tighten it too much - you
will have to move it to time it..
7. replace the governor and whatever else you took off....
8. start the beast and rotate the mag up and down to get the best
"running" position. DONE !!!!!!!!!!!
PRINT THIS AND PLACE IT IN YOUR MULE TM....IT MAY HELP YOU OUT ONE DAY..
