USS TEXAS (BB-35) Houston, Texas (only surviving "Dreadnaught"-era BB left,
of the NEW YORK class (BB-34)preceding and similiar in appearance to NEVADA
(BB-36), OKLAHOMA (BB-37), PENNSYLVANIA (BB-38) and ARIZONA (BB-39) of Pearl
Harbor fame.)
USS NORTH CAROLINA (BB-55) Wilmington, NC
USS MASSACHUSETTS (BB-59) Fall River, Mass
USS ALABAMA (BB-60) Mobile, Al
USS IOWA (BB-61) Newport RI (closed)
USS New Jersey (BB-62) Philadelphia, PA pending trans to Battleship NJ
foundation as memorial
USS MISSOURI (BB-63) Pearl Harbor, HI (open)
USS WISCONSIN (BB-64) Nauticus Museum, Norfolk, Va (Pending opening fall
2000)

The USS Missouri is now in Pearl Harbor tied up just down from remains of
the USS Arizona. It is run as a museum by a "private group"...not by the
Navy....You get on a shuttle bus near the Arizona Memorial Park
Headquarters. The shuttle takes you over to Ford Island where you get to
tour the ship. Most of the tour is on the main deck, but some is in the
interior. I went aboard about a month ago..it was nice.....

The Wisconsin is supposed to end up in Norfolk, Virginia...as for the other
2 Iowa Class ships...I do not know...
