I purchased two years ago a Ural Tourist motorcycle made in the town of
Irbit, Siberia. It (with the exception of the overhead valve engine) is
nearly identical to the M-72 the Russians produced during WWII. The Russians
updated the engine in 1954-55 from a flathead to an overhead valve and sold
the tools and dies to the Chinese who are still producing it today!! And you
have a choice of either 6 or 12 volt electric's!!! (On the Chinese version).
The Urals are imported into the US http://www.ural.com/ and meet all US
DOT/EPA requirements. A new owner took over recently (past year) and is
offering to the worlds military services a "New Military Vehicle. The Gear
Up Sidecar rig which comes complete with a Russian PK-12 7.62mm beltfed
mounted on the sidecar in one or two wheel drive selectable by the rider.
Here is the Russian Manufacturers website http://www.imz-ural.com/.

Keep em moving!!!
