Dear All,
With regard to the recent hysteria about a "demil" White Paper (is that
what they are called Stateside??), I just got this from the Armyradios list
and, as most all of the American Listers will likely be asleep as I write
this, I thought we should all share the info immediately, even though there
are already a number of members of both lists who will wake up in an hour
or two and probably point out the same info. Posted by Mr. Tom Norris of
the Armyradios list and this is the relevant part of Mr. Norris' post to
that list:
"After reading the current version of the bill, the only demil items I
could find were ammo and chemical weapons. There was some hysteria on a
couple of other groups which were quoting sections of the bill in an
earlier form - and apparently out of context - that referred to destruction
of all items on the "munitions list" The original panic was that if it
went by the letter of that list, almost
everything that I had, simply because it was green, would have to be
officially demilled, since it had at that point suddenly become
dangerous. :-)"
Seems like hobby-related life Stateside will not be overly threatened after
all, which is excellent news.
Cheers
Gav.
