I found this today and I was shocked that the # was so high. You would think
looney tunes would be 1-2%.
I mention this, because if 9% think SUV's should be banned, and believe that
there is nothing wrong with this idea...

popular vehicles outright

Americans, it seems, have a love-hate relationship with
the plethora of sport utility vehicles offered by
virtually
every major automobile maker as factors such as gas
prices, safety and tires influence drivers' opinions of
the
oversized vehicles.
According to a new poll released yesterday by Portrait of
America, 40 percent of Americans say SUVs are "great"
while 9 percent want to ban them outright.
Yet, nearly half -- 47 percent -- "are where they are
usually at, in the middle" of the SUV debate, poll
analysts
said, noting that those respondents "fall somewhere
between thinking the trucks are great and banning them
entirely."
Additionally, analysts
said Americans are
equally split over the
safety of the vehicles,
noting that 32 percent
say SUVs are safe to
drive and/or ride in,
31 percent say they aren't and 37 percent said they
weren't sure.
Rasmussen Research conducted the survey of 966 adults
Aug. 10. The margin of sampling error for the full sample
is +/- 3 percentage points with a 95 percent level of
confidence.
