I decided to try to get the reasoning for the demil part of HR-4205 right
from the whore's mouth so I called the home office of Mr. Spence. I was
referred to his Washington, D.C. office who referred me to the Armed
Services Committee (202-225-4151) who referred me to "Diane" (202-226-8979)
who said her boss (Joe Boessen, 202-226-1036) said that any calls about the
demil portion of HR-4205 should be referred to Lee Holland (804-765-4370).
Well, the buck stopped there. When I called the phone number given me for
Lee Holland, I got some very strange sounds of "ringing" but not the usual
"I'm calling Aunt Sally" ring but short bursts. After about 6-7 of these
rings, I get a tone which sounds like an answering machine but no message.
I got 3 words in and then was disconnected. I did this 2 more time w/same
result. Went back to "Diane" who said she didn't understand since her boss
(Boessen) had called Holland that morning and everything went through OK.
So does this sound like an Abbot & Costello routine or what? Now remember,
all I'm trying to do is find out the reasoning Spence has for wanting the
demil portion of this spending bill. Now I don't think that's exactly
national security or a "Top Secret" matter.
Of course I made sure I didn't stay on any one call more than 57 seconds so
it couldn't be traced (just kidding).
Well, one thing was for sure, I wasn't the only person who called on the
demil issue, "Diane" said that all calls on that matter were to be referred
to Holland so there is some spin going on here. Of course "Diane" first
said she could transfer me to the Press Office. Right! And if anyone would
believe anything the Government Press Office would tell them, well, I have
a bridge in San Francisco I want to talk to them about.
I am not by any stretch a political activist. At 61 years old I just got
my first MV toy (M-37) and found this list. Still with all I have seen
(and learned from it) about the Government, including this matter, the more
I understand (remember, understanding is not supporting or even agreeing)
things like Waco and Ruby Ridge. OK, another speech for another time.
I'll try the call a few more times, probably tomorrow and update here until
someone says I'm posting too much.
My 2mm worth.
