Removal of M38 Steering Wheel..Need Advice

Group,

Anyone have any "good" methods to remove a steering wheel from the column?
Need some
help on how to avoid breaking the wheel. I've already tried a wheel puller,
and about the only thing I've accomplished is to scar and dent the back side
of the wheel. I've had the splines soaking in liquid wrench for about 5 days
now.

Any advice, suggestions, lessons-learned would be appreciated.
