Hi Joe,

Not a law here in Calif that I've ever heard of, the only hard top
requirement is a helmet! I've got a bunch of registered soft or no tops,
including a White firetruck, no problem. Although around here, the DMV
office you deal with can make a huge difference in what gets done and the
hoops to jump through.
