Rich has probably come closest to what is probably wrong with the
motor. Most likely the oil pump was replaced or rebuilt and when it was
installed the rod that drives the distributor is out of phase. It must be
lined up with the gear properly or the motor will not run. The procedure
is in the motor rebuild TM which you should have.
