What is "NAF"

I obtained a pair of headphones in almost original condition this weekend.
Along with the headphones was a 5' extension cord which is labeled "NAF PART
No. 1136-1". What I was curious about is, what is/was "NAF"? The headphones
are standard Signal Corps, US Army issue (almost new), which I intend to put
on eBay in a week or so. Anyone know what the "NAF" stands for?
