Some time ago there were some postings concerning a 1/35 scale kit for the
Dodge WC-? used by gen. Patton. I promised to send more info as soon as I
get it.
O.K. There is a review of this kit in a British modelling magazine. It is a
good kit as it may be assembled either as Patton's Command car or as a
regular command car. I know that many mil-veh aficionados also collect
models!!! I am sure that many will buy this kit!
While at War & Peace, Beltring, I did (chuckle!) buy more than 20 1/43
scale die cast mil-veh made by Victoria. Many of them were missing from my
collection and I did not find them in Italy, so I was very pleased (read
"happy"!). I would like to ask: anybody knows if there are problems with
Victoria? The British vendors said it went bankruptcy... Victoria is the
name of the military line of Vitesse (a Portuguese firm).

O.K. That's enough with models, let's talk of the real thing! The article
on the kit also had a couple of black and white photos of WC's Command car,
but one photo was very interesting for me: it showed the WC-56 (without
winch!) used by Patton before D-Day. It is on August 17 1943 while
entering in Messina, Sicily (Italy). It would be nice to know what happened
to this WC.
The one used in Europe (the one with horns and covered pioneer rack, etc.)
was a WC-57, with winch.

Keep Them Rolling!
