At Beltring the majority of British mil-veh had appropriate rifles in the
cab rack: they were secured with a chain and lock... The Enfields were
all deactivated... I agree: even a dummy, secure it, if at all possible,
people is ineducated today.
Here, the S.M.L.E.'s (Short Magazine Lee Enfield) are known as "Enfield"
no. 1, no. 4; the no. 5 is called Jungle Carbine.
The six K98 Mauser rifles in single racks behind the seat in the FAMO 18
ton German halftrack were not secured.
