I'm caught back up so......
Went to Reilly yesterday to get my Deuce, thought we had checked it out
better, but found we had missed 2 things.
1. no start switch in the dash, was 1/2 gone.
2. we did not have 50 gal of fuel, we had 50 gal of lacquer (great smell,
might have been 1/2 linseed).
We tried a push start with a forklift, no start.
Problem, brought nothing big enough to unload all 50 gal of crap.
Good news, a civ-contractor was on sight driving a 10ton tractor who use to
be SSgt in a motor pool somewhere, and also worked for a re-builds co.
Gave us the good basic advise to move forward.
Drained the main filters, pulled 20 gal of fuel out, added 24 gal of 91
octane, refilled the mail filters with the same.
Hooked up the jumpers to a forklift, and she spun like a top.
We could start her on either but she would not run.
My guess is that we should have drained the final and she would be in the
yard today,
but the DRMO people lock up at 3pm so were just out of time.
All in all the folks at Reilly DRMO and just incredibly helpful, they
pushed, jumped, and generally helped with this fight and provided great
support.
The only thing we did not have was a Mek on staff.
Looks like we take a trailer Tues next week to get her.
Does anyone need 50gal of lacquer, cheep?
