My stay in the Army, & at Knox was 20 years ago & short.
But one of the main things I remember was a wood floor that GLOWED,
(many home owners work for years to get a finish like that),
and walls that spoke of recent history, I could feel the shadows
of those that had passed thru and never returned, from Europe,
Korea, Nam, and where ever else we have fought.

I'm not saying we need to save em all, but a display similar
to the Tanks and Cannons is appropriate, and I believe necessary.

Yep and jeeps only had about a 90 day life expectancy in combat so they were
also considered temporary. Despite the nature of the item and its
classification by the military, it is still historic in its own right and it
would be nice if a few examples were saved for future generations to see.
If for no other reason than to make the appreciate their creature comforts
today.

Since old MVs don't meet DOT safety standards and were not expected to last,
we should nuke them too.

I've spent my time in the old open bay WWII billets at Ft Knox, Ft Sill, Ft
Devens........as a cadet and officer. They were pretty darned nice compared
to lots of places I've slept (such as outside and on the ground).
