Well it still is not running, but we are starting to make some sense. I
just got my hands on a CD version of the tech manuals and we are currently
going over that information. Many readers have responded with very good
advice and it is looking more and more like we have a problem with the
master relay. I knew that little wimpy toggle switch could not handle all
that electrical load! The batteries are checking out ok, blessed by the
Army reserve and their portable tester (pretty neat gizmo). The cables have
all been tested for continuity and all the grounds have been removed,
brushed and re-attached, including a ground we found under an armored plate
by the slave receptacle (three grounds so far).
We have water in the fuel and the filters are soaked so we have to drain and
dry the fuel lines and replace the filters as well as the sump on the fuel
tank. Thanks to the CD I now know which plug does what underneath the tank.
It is raining a lot here and I do not fancy working on anything electrical
in the rain, so I am reading manuals instead.
More as it happens!
