One reason for this hop ( I have had time to cipher on this whilst I
drove my deuce most of the way across Tennessee) is that both rear axles
are positively locked together unlike road trucks which this power is
supplied through a torque divider which is a differential between the
two differentials. Some road trucks have a air valve to lock them
together with a large yellow sticker on them that says "do not drive on
solid ground while engaged".
