Hi Pete. Could you do me a favor and post a question on the MV list for me?
I still can't post from here. Like I told you yesterday, the engine in our
'70 M35A2 is full of silver-grey sludge. I don't know if the block is
cracked, or if a gasket blew, but either way a lot of water got into the oil
and the engine is shot. We need to find a good take-out engine/long block,
find out if the existing one can be rebuilt, or find out what other options
we have to get the truck back on the road for as little money as possible.
The motor that is in there now is the turbo multifuel, but to save money I'd
drop just about anything in there that would work.
I called a couple of places and we could buy two whole trucks for less than
what they want for a full rebuilt engine. Hopefully someone out there can
point us in the right direction. Money is tight right now, but the deuce
has become part of the family, so I want to get her running again as soon as
possible. With some luck, we might even be able to get her running in time
to drive in the Veteran's day parade.
Thanks,
John Bennett
