Your main concerns will be particulates, and damage to the inside of the
can, bits of inside coating ect.
My M35 sat for 6 years with a full (50 Gal) fuel tank the main problem I
have now is the 40 gal of bad diesel/gas mix I have setting in 30 gal drums
in the yard.
I would rinse them with fresh fuel, and look inside with a flash light to
make sure you have nothing coming lose in side.

Subject: [MV] Can I still use this?
When I got my M37 I got 3 Jerry cans w/gasoline in them. One could not be
opened but the other 2 could. I dumped the gas of course. My question is,
can I use these cans after they have been sitting for probably 4-5 years
w/gas in them. I'm assuming nothing was put into the gas to preserve it.
How can I clean them to be sure?
Thanks.
