If the metal box is not rusted then you can remove it, flip it upside
down and it will usually look good.
As for the seal, scrape out the old seal using a screw driver and razor
blade. Then use a dremel tool
with wire brush end, to remove the leftover adhesive. Clean with a rag
to remove dust bits.
Then go to Lowe's or Home Depot, etc. and buy a door seal. I used 3/4
inch thickness. As long
as the surface is clean it will stick perfectly. Rebend your handle so
it really makes the door close snug.
Worked for me and my glove box is sealed and looks great.
