Geeze ,Bob!!!
The other folks on the list said it might be that you weren't
responding to the offer of the 39 Packard Navy Admirals staff car that was
used by Halsey in Hawaii for free because ya just have too many HMV's to
take on another set of wheels. Who would of thought that your email program
was screwed up and the cause of no response.
You had until 7 PM last night to respond if you wanted it, because it had
to be out of the barn by 0800 today because of the estate sale, but didn't,
so it was given to Stu Ellis because his CUCV was having a lobotomy and he
was so depressed that it was thought it would cheer him up to have a running
vehicle.. He couldn't get it started ( natch, something spooky there ) so he
tried to flat tow it home behind Fakovecs M109 but somehow it got left it in
reverse gear with the emergency brake on and due to friction it burst into
flames about 2 miles down Rt.93. In the excitement, Hank stopped and tried
to back up but the tow bar cocked and Hank backed over the car and it got
stuck under the truck. Luckily, he was able to scrape the car off by rubbing
against 3 miles of jersey barriers before too much damage was done to the
M109.
Watch the noon news from Manchester, NH for coverage of the clean up
and some shots of some heavily charred, heretofore unknown memos from FDR to
Halsey that were found while the Fire Department tore the backseat out after
cutting the top of the car off to get at what turned out to be a mannequin.
Since no one would own up to the Sate Troopers on who owned the wreckage,
due to the cleanup costs of 5 miles of smoldering wreckage on the interstate
and the destroyed diesel powered sign board ( we won't go there, but Hank is
right saying if they were serious about it not being hit it should have been
BEHIND the jersey barriers ) it was claimed by the Manchester, NH FD, who
will get the $400k or so the memos are being guesstimated as being worth.
And to think you missed out on this all because of that pirate
Gates.... It's a crying shame... Have ya thought about Netscape?
Regards, Ron
