The M37 doesn't use an external ignition resistor. The correct resistance
across the coil primary terminals is (if I recall correctly), about 12 ohms.
I'll measure a couple later today to be sure.
Please note that identical-appearing coils with about 6 ohms resistance were
manufactured for other military vehicles, but these would probably overheat
in a 24V M37 unless you added an external resistor for normal-running mode,
or unless those coils happen to feature a built-in variable-resistance wire
that is designed to increase in resistance as it warms up.
It's best to use the correct coil (i.e., an M37 coil). Look for coils in the
10-to-14 ohm range.
