Ah, your thoughts are attuned to the specifically peculiar Oz problem Doug,
as I well know since some of your MV parts are getting steadily lost in my
garage as my own dross collecting steadily mounts up, to say nothing of the
16 jerricans of petrol kept handy for the next fuel blockade that didn't
happen, however, Mr Rolls and Mr Royce will soon gulp that heaving the 623
along.

The baggage allowance is huge to the US since the GE/Pratt/RR (delete as
applicable) supercharged paraffin (kerosene) blowlamps require only a small
fuel load, contrary to popular opinion, although you live on the bottom of
the world, they have to shove the aircraft all the way as it doesn't fall
down there naturally. At these near max range limits the driver and
co-driver have to get the loadings right to the gram.

The US flights have something like 3 or 4 pieces each of about 60+ pounds,
they're quite liberal even then, more difficult is explaining what the
metallic stuff actually is after the x-ray in the depths of baggage
handling, more desperate is the pointed questioning/inspection by US
customs, but that may be particularly reserved for us exiting the "Aliens"
line. You can't get a jeep in a suitcase anyway. . . . . . . . . . . .
