Most definitely yes - every chance I get. I have a '93 M1038 HMMWV that
during the summer I had out every weekend with the doors and back off. Even
once during a thunderstorm. BTW, the wipers don't do much good when the
rain's hitting the inside. It also became the weekly tradition to drive the
kids down to the ice cream shop. Did you ever notice how many bugs those
non-aerodynamic windshields pick up on a nice buggy summer night? ;-) I
also use it to go tot Home Depot or any other place I need to go for an
errand. It's just plain fun to drive. I even take it to work occasionally
but have to tie the antenna down as it just squeaks under the parking garage
height. But the echoing of the diesel engine in the parking garage makes it
all he more fun. And of course the parades and one show this year. This
past spring I even took it on a Boy Scout canoeing trip with my son carrying
a ton of troop gear and my kayak. It ended up pouring come camp time and
after having paid my dues many times before I decided to forgo setting up
the tent and just rolled my bag out in the back of the Humvee. It was quite
dry and pleasant. I've had it off roading only once and am waiting for the
snow to hit to see what it can do.
