Well.....
Here in Oklahoma we have hard red clay, if you get stuck it like being on
grease.
Last month when I got stuck, after we were out of the mud, and on solid
ground it was a 10deg slope that was wet.
I had to run the winch out a little over 100' and put the truck around 15'
just to move, both duals and the front axel spun on one side, and they were
not in an 1-1/2" of clay.
On a tractor, (farm type) I would have just hit the difloc and been on my
way.

Why try to lock the differentials? If they won't get you through stock, then
you're in too deep! Winch time..
