If I remember correctly, Portrayal Press has a manual on the
painting and lettering for US Navy vehicles in his catalog. Post war Navy
jeeps were done to a standard lettering/numbering scheme. Even the civilian
jeeps (CJ-3, 3A and 5) used by the Navy adhered to these standards. Can't
comment on the current vehicles such as the CUCV as I don't have the data
on these.
