M38A1 Steel Sheet Gauage Thickness

I was hoping someone knows the correct gauge thickness for sheet metal for a
'55 M38A1. I'm going to do some repair. My micrometer tells me the outside
skin is 16 gauge (which I expected) and the floor is 18 gauge. Can anyone
confirm this with some reference to a technical manual?
