We did it

Hello everyone,

Its the new guy on the block here asking what all do I need to start this
restoration. We bought a 43 WC-52, here are pictures from our first visit.

it has a great frame and drive train, it starts, and all forward gears work.
The PTO also functions. The main items to repair appear to be the rear box
and the brakes. Then of course all the accessories will be needed, but I
figure that to be a way off yet. We have a garage to store/work on it, one
of the three of us is a body man so the sheet metal work is/should be easy.
The plan is to remove the rear box, and cab sheet metal to get to engine on
a rolling frame. Clean/grit blast/prime our way through each and every part
we remove. Tag it and put it on the shelf. I think I have a decent grasp
of the what we need to do, but the question is more along the lines of how
to do it. SO far I have two manuals TM 9-808, and ORD 9 SNL G-502. I have
also ordered the 3/4 manuals on CD-ROM. What book/manual shows how to take
the durn thing apart? The parts manual is about worthless for this, as it
has a nice listing of all the parts, but doesn't show the sheet metal
assemblies (rear box assembly in particular) I will need to take the thing
apart repair and re assemble. I will also need to know where to get parts.
I know the blackout light is gone, but am more concerned about the floor in
the bed of the rear box, as there is nothing there except the rear frame
cross members.

So I will ask if any of you out there can give me any warnings, suggestions,
books I need, anything that will help us with this restoration. Are there
any books/manuals that actually show you how to disassemble this thing? Any
and all help will be greatly appreciated

Thanks,

Robert
