Greetings.
After 15 hrs work, the entire front clip is off...would have been quicker
if i had of just cut everything off, like i ended up doing.

The damaged steel brake line, in the front crossmember is out, i will remake
it today.
The radiator is BRASS....is this normal?....will look like friggin gold when
i polish it!

Uncovered the serial No...it matches the cabin plate.

One of the rubber brake lines is also perished....can i buy them ex USA, the
brake
places will not make these up by law....however, i did get one made up once
by
a hydraulic specialist, said it was not for brakes, cost $90!

Alos cleaned and degreased 5 times + scraped scum.

Winching backwards....are they set up for this or has mine been modified??

Fording Depth...in a library book i borrowed "Standard US Military Vehicles
1943"
it gives details and specs....none of the GMCs have fording depth stated.

Looking at similar trucks and tyre sizes there was a wide variation ie from
24 to 34 inches,
the major difference appeared to be radiator depth, therfore fan size.
I surmised that fording depth is calculated by minimun height of fan bottom
tip to ground.
One reason i suspect this is i got caught once in a river and that was the
problem.

Am i right...fan to ground on GMC is 34"....Dodge 3/4 WC etc were 34" in
book,
but some larger trucks were 24"?

Can anyone reccomend the best book for a CCKW fancier, or if anyone has
articles
that they could send as email attachments would be great.

more soon tony
