Also called a power divider and it has nothing to do with the axle housing.
It is all contained in the drop in pumpkin unit if you wish to call it that.
I asked Rockwell about availaility of a power divider for these small axles
(small for Rockwell that is) and they said they never made any. They said
that there was never any civilian use of the small top loader axles in a
tandem application. Sounded like power dividers could be found for 5 tons
however. But then with these big companies you never know if the person
your talking to knows anything for sure.
